Dental Implants

Dental implants are simply the best solution available for missing teeth. Our implants look, feel, and function so much like a natural tooth, you may have a hard time telling the difference.

Dental Bonding

Bonding takes careful artistry, and our cosmetic dentists have the training and practice needed to get exceptional results.

To discuss how bonding might improve your smile, please contact us today or request an appointment online.

Fillings

The cosmetic resin used in dental bonding is the same material used in tooth-colored fillings and we select the proper color resin to match your teeth. Once the bonding is completed, you should not be able to tell where your natural tooth ends and where the bonding begins; the results look completely natural.

Orthodontics

If you or your children have gaps or space between your teeth Grand Rapids Dental Partners may be able to help.  Our dentists offer teeth straitening options, such as orthodontics and Spark Clear Aligners.

Dentures

Dentures have come a long way, and there are many options when it comes to deciding what’s right for you and your lifestyle.  Partial dentures can be secured by implants, which can help to regain some chewing power.  Talk to our doctors to see which option is right for you.

Veneers

A porcelain veneer is a beautiful, versatile option for correcting the shape, length, color, or texture of your teeth.  Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain wafers that are bonded to your enamel to give your teeth a whole new appearance. Though they are thin, the bond with your tooth makes them extremely durable. Additionally, the material is very resistant to discoloring.

Teeth Whitening

Here at Grand Rapids Dental Partners, our cosmetic dentist offers multiple forms of teeth whitening services. Many people think cosmetic dentistry is all about improving looks, and in the case of teeth whitening, that’s generally true.  The mental health benefits that often accompany a major self-esteem boost are not to be dismissed either.

Spark Clear Aligners

Grand Rapids Dental Partners is proud to be offering Spark Clear Aligners – an alternative to traditional braces. Utilizing one of the latest innovations in orthodontics, Spark Aligners are made using TruGEN™. The aligners are next to invisible, stain less than other plastic aligners, and are extremely comfortable to wear, and they are free of BPA, mercury, latex, and phthalates.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spark Clear Aligners

I’ve heard of Spark Aligners. Can you tell me how it works?

To get started, Dr. Smith and his team use proprietary technology made available to them by Spark Aligners to develop a unique treatment plan for you. They begin by generating a 3D model of your teeth and creating a road map. Once your first set of aligners are available, you will visit their office for a fitting and your treatment begins.

Although each patient’s length of treatment will vary, over the course of one to two years in most cases, your teeth are slowly and gently moved. The process results in straight teeth, eliminates any gaps, resolves crowding and bite issues, and delivers a perfect smile.

What types of cases can Spark Aligners address?

Spark Aligners address a variety of cases, including crowding, crossbite, deep bite, open bite, overbite, underbite, and spacing. If you do not see your case listed here, please inquire with Dr. Smith and his team.

Will Spark Aligner treatment be painful?

While we encourage you to truly consider Spark Aligners to treat whatever orthodontic case you may have, we will always be upfront with you. Yes, when starting a new set of aligners, there is often some discomfort from the pressure of your teeth beginning their movement. With that said, most patients report a dull annoyance that is very manageable. Typically, after the first day or two of starting the new set of aligners, any discomfort diminishes quickly.

Is Spark Aligner treatment expensive?

Spark Aligner treatment costs roughly the same as traditional metal braces and other leading plastic aligners. While there can be extenuating circumstances, the cost of Spark Aligners is very competitive compared to other orthodontic treatments. Many insurance providers have a one-time allowance for orthodontic treatment. In addition, if you have an FSA or HSA, it is likely that you can pay for Spark Aligners tax-free.

How long does it take to complete Spark Aligner treatment?

While the Spark Aligner process varies from one individual to the next, most patients will complete their treatment within two years, which is common compared to traditional braces and other plastic aligners. Extreme treatment cases may last longer than two years.

Achieving Ideal Results with Spark Aligners

Can you tell me more about day-to-day use?

You’ll need to wear your aligners 22 hours per day; the more you wear them, the better results you’ll achieve. You will need to remove them before eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, and flossing. At night, you’ll need to sleep with the aligners in place.

What activities can I engage in when wearing my aligners?

Your life will not be put on pause when wearing Spark Aligners. Just about everything you do in your normal routine, you will be able to do when wearing your aligners.

  • Daily exercises? No problem!
  • Catching up with friends? There’s nothing to hide!
  • Taking care of work in the office? Most won’t even notice your clear aligners!
What happens if I lose my aligner?

We understand when life happens! If you lose an aligner, you’ll want to contact Dr. Smith and his team right away. Most patients will have a new set of aligners already on hand and will have retained their previous set. Dr. Smith’s team will advise on whether to advance to the next set or use the old set.

How often are office visits required?

Check-ups for Spark Aligner patients are typically scheduled at 12-week intervals. Treatment for traditional metal braces usually requires check-ups every four to eight weeks; therefore, you and your child will save time with fewer office visits.

Are Spark Aligners only for adults or can kids wear them too?

Spark Aligners can be worn by just about anyone, especially by kids! Whether we are addressing crowding, bite, spacing, or other issues, Spark Aligners are often preferred by kids because of the ease of use compared to traditional braces. There are no messy and clunky wires involved in Spark Aligners.

Many young patients report a boost to their self-esteem and confidence due to their smile not being obstructed by metal used in traditional brace systems. Not only are the aligners removed when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, there are no broken wire brackets to fix throughout the treatment process.
